Open garden estates 2016

Architects for Social Housing (ASH) are inviting people who live on council estates threatened by 'regeneration' to take part in the Open Garden Estates weekend, 18th and 19th June 2016.

ASH are inviting people living on council estates in London to take part in the Open Garden Estates weekend and build resistance to the relentless 'regeneration' schemes destroying London.

Council housing in London is under attack from the government housing policy, Labour councils and property developers. Hundreds of estates and homes to hundreds of thousands Londoners are currently threatened by the estate 'regeneration' schemes which will demolish people's homes to build unaffordable luxury investments instead.

Open Gardens Estate would be another opportunity to share information about the reality of estate 'regenerations', get support and advice on resisting demolition plans, etc.

Last year, there were a number of workshops and walks around Cressingham Gardens and Central Hill estate, which you can read about here. Please get in touch with ASH to find out more and/or sign up your estate for the event.
