Shopping centre exhibition: take 2

Delancey are to host a second 'public' exhibition of their proposals for the shopping centre from Thursday 26th - Saturday 28th May 2016.

Next week, Delancey will host the second 'public' exhibition or consultation about their proposals for the Elephant and Castle shopping centre. The proposals allegedly grew out of 'successful first round of consultation'. How many people were 'consulted'? Ten? 20? How many did not welcome them with open arms?

Much like last year, before they open to exhibition to just any 'public' public, there's going to be an invite-only preview which Delancey 'would be delighted' if you attended. The not-public preview is on Wednesday 25th May, 16:00 - 19:00. To attend, you have to 'get on the list' by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before Monday 23rd.

The rest of the local plebs will be allowed in Thursday 26th - Saturday 28th May (Thursday 26th, 14:00 - 20:00; Friday 27th, 09:00 - 17:00; Saturday 28th, 10:00 - 16:00). The exhibition or consultation (which is it?!) will take place in the corner shop next to the National Railway station entrance, former Little Orient, on the Upper Mall.

The proposals apprently include the "creation of new shopping facilities, zone 1 transport links, new homes to rent for people living and working in London*, enhanced public space and cultural facilities, and a new cutting edge (yes, we wouldn't want it any other way, op ed) campus for the University of the Arts London’s, London College of Communication."

* our italics as not clear if these would be homes for cleaners? nurses? shop assistants?
