Thursday 12th March will be the official opening of Art's Bar, a hub of all forms of creative expression including art exhibitions, performance art, an acoustic open mic, comedy, poetry slams, independent film and other events.

Situated upstairs at Funky Munky, 25a Camberwell Church Street, Art's is a creative space that will host weekly events featuring artists and creators from the local area. Art's Gallery/Bar will be open during the evening hours from 5pm.

Courses will be available during daytime. Currently we are offering a web design class, stand up comedy, public speaking and presentation skills courses. If you are interested in teaching a class at Art's, we want to hear from you.

Art's is also currently taking applications from creative people interested in having their works shown (exhibition space is free). If you are an artist or performer interested in getting involved, or have any creative suggestions, do not hesitate to contact Tracy Allen on 07980 331 158 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We are also looking for people who want to exhibit or perform on the opening night (12th March).

Art's is boot strap entrepreneurism in motion. There is no operating budget for the opening of this venture. The painting and refurbishing of the space has been donated by artists, musicians and volunteers living in the Camberwell area. Thank you everyone for your contributions!

With very low overhead, the bar will run itself, but with no budget for purchasing items, we are asking members of the community to donate stuff they no longer need.

If you have items which no longer serve you, but are far too precious for the bin, we ask you to consider dropping them by.

Wish list:

Cushions, fabric, microphones, mic stands, canvas, paint, art supplies, folding chairs, coffee tables, small round tables, hot air popcorn machine, espresso machine, kettle, coffee mugs, wine glasses, bric a brac, lighting, karaoke machine, costumes or hideous clothing you would be ashamed to donate to your local charity shop. If you don't want it, Art's does!

Although Art's is not officially open yet, we are hosting the Sunday Swap Shop (every Sunday from 3-7pm), upstairs at the Funky Munky, 25a Camberwell Church Street. If you have any donations or want to come by to swap your stuff, please pop in.

We look forward to meeting you.

The cast and crew of Art's.
