And, in the meantime

Waiting for candidates' manifestos is a bit like waiting for Godot. A bit.

Fortunately, there are things we can do in the meantime.

One of the sites we came across recently (courtesy of Peter of Camberwell Online Blog) is Vote for Policies, which gives you an opportunity to look through the different policies the parties have so far submitted & make up your mind based on them rather than personalities.

Another good site is They Work for You, where you can look up your existing MP's decisions' records, voting histories, declarations of interest etc.

The links to the three Southwark ones are:

Harriet Harman

Simon Hughes

Tessa Jowell

Two candidates currently with the London Assembly can be seen here:

Jenny Jones

Valerie Shawcross

Sadly, and this has been repeatedly brought up by many people in the borough, there don't seem to be similar summaries for existing councillors, potential candidates, let alone administrations. If you do come across any useful information, please let us know.

Update 7th April 2010:

Simon Hughes sets out his election manifesto

Valerie Showcross' vision for Bermondsey & Old Southwark
